As the population of patients and healthcare workers ages, we are seeing a tremendous shortage in the allied health workforce. There is an interesting article in the LA times this morning spotlighting this shortage and focusing on respiratory care. Those of us in the education field know that it is difficult to find faculty, resources, and space for new programs. But, it is clear that Colleges in the health professions must step up to the plate and turn out more healthcare workers in short order to reduce the strain. See the article at
